Château Beaulieu is pleased to inform you of its new acquisition of vines, an annexation of 3.32 Hectares of Malbec, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Adjoining Château BEAULIEU, these vines will allow us to increase the richness and complexity of our blends and our unique Cuvées.
The typology of the soils on these new parcels contains mainly clay-gravelly soils, this mainly on the 40 acres of Malbec planted in 2015. A parcel with a soil of red gravel, favorable to the maturation of the grapes and developing wines with a certain power without losing any elegance.
With a favored location, at 84 meters above sea level, one of the highest points in the Gironde department, the vines receive ideal ventilation on this relief of slopes. This superb topography with a full southern exposure optimizes sunshine and promotes the ripening of fine grapes.
The management of the vineyard in high density, 5500 vines / ha on Merlot and Cabernet Franc and 6200 vines / ha on Malbec, reconciles an improvement in quality and an increase in yield. Production in organic viticulture since the 2010 vintage (12 years), these parcels with an organic certification will allow us not only to increase the grandeur of Château Beaulieu but also to combine an organic evolution of the estate in every sense of the term.
